ABOUT ME
I am the Instructional Coach at Morningside Middle School. I am a native of Fort Worth and attended elementary, junior high and high school in the city. I attended Prairie View A&M University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, a Master of Education degree in Counseling and a Doctor of Education degree in Educational Leadership from University of Phoenix. I have also completed a Master of Science in Business Leadership from Concordia College, New York. I have been in education for 23 years, and have work as an engineer in Houston, Texas, been a secondary school Career and Guidance Counselor, a Secondary Mathematics teacher and now an Instructional Coach for teachers.
I am currently the Chaplain of both the local Fort Worth Alumni Chapter of Prairie View A&M University and the Chaplain of the National Alumni Association (NAA) of Prairie View A&M University. I am a member in the national honorary band sorority, Tau Beta Sigma Sorority, Inc. and a member of the National Pan-Hellenic Council's sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, Inc.
As a mathematics teacher during the 2011-2012 school year, I was awarded "Campus Teacher of the Year" and advanced on to compete for the district title. On April 5, 2012, I was awarded "Fort Worth Independent School District (FWISD) Secondary Teacher of the Year" and continue to provide professional development to both new and veteran teachers. My focus has always been to help educators cope effectively within their stressful environments, with my main objective centering the idea of leadership development within the health and wellness realm as the essential component to any successful organization. I have created and organized the Successful Health Awareness Fueling Teachers at Morningside Middle School (#SHAFTMMS) program designed to help faculty and staff learn how to manage stress, develop good health and wellness habits and create an environment that is fun and safe to work within.
